Guide dogs and other assistance animals on campus
You can bring your assistance dog to UWA. Under the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) it is unlawful to deny employment or access to a person because that person is accompanied by a guide dog, hearing dog or other animal trained to alleviate the effects of a person's disability.
Note that a companion animal does not fit within this definition. There are some places on campus that your dog will not be allowed however. The DDA notes that assistance animals are not permitted in areas where their presence would contravene health and hygiene regulations, for example in food preparation areas.
